As a young man trying to find my place in the world, I had a vision of what I wanted my life to look like. Like many young men, I envisioned a high paying job, a beautiful wife, nice car, 3-4 children, and lots of traveling. I also envisioned making an impact on people's lives by starting a business that helped people live their dream.
However, implementing that vision was harder than I thought it would be. I was always the one to have known what I wanted from life. But getting it proved to be much harder than I expected.
I started running my family business at the age of 17. Businesses fascinated me. But, entrepreneurship wasn’t my initial dream. I wanted to be an architect. I loved the idea of capturing someone's vision and turning it into a set of blueprints that could be followed to realize the exact vision the client had (fulfilling their dream). The thought of making someone's vision come true inspired me.
Incidentally, the dream of being an architect came and vanished right before my eyes after graduating high school. It was either going to school with no way to pay for it or go to work in the family business, so I could survive.
So I picked survival and started running the family business, which I was good at! I have always had a gift that allows me to see things that others don’t. This gift helped me solve problems in my family business as well as many of my clients' businesses throughout my entrepreneurship career.
This brings me to my next point. I craved problems to solve. I went on to start seven businesses of my own, including my current business venture - Processology. Processology could not exist without my past experiences. I was able to identify problems in my businesses as well as those I’ve consulted. They all had process problems, and they were hidden and difficult to find. My observations made me realize these process problems have a severe impact on business operations, families, mindsets, relationships, and so much more. They also steal people's freedom of choice and valuable opportunities to make memories with the people we love. In my opinion, this is a heavy price to pay for unaddressed process issues.
Processology focuses on helping business owners and their teams untangle their business processes so that they can 'Operate Better to Live Better.'
In the end, I captured my original dream of becoming an architect - I became an architect of business operations and processes. I listen to what my clients want and create innovative blueprints that empower them to achieve their desired outcomes. So, in the end, dreams do come true, just not in the perfect straight line we imagine them in!
